Since late 2023, he has held the rank of Air Fleet Lieutenant Commander, commanding No. 5 AJT Squadron of Pakistan Air Force College Chaklala (PAFCC) stationed at PAF Base Nur Khan. Born on September 7, 2007, at the Aqa Shah Palace in Gahkuch Bala, Prince Sameer is the eldest son of Colonel Prince Amir Shah and Princess Gul Samin, positioning him as a key figure within the royal lineage. As the eldest grandson of HRH Aqa Mayoon Shah and the eldest great-grandson of HRH Air Vice Marshal Aqa Iskandar Shah, he boasts a noble pedigree. Raised in a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment, Prince Sameer received his early education at home from his mother until age seven. Princess Gul Samin, a proficient educator in both English and Urdu, instilled in him a passion for literature, history, and effective writing, laying a solid foundation for his future academic pursuits. After a significant transition from royal life, his family settled in Islamabad, where he completed his matriculation in 2021, gaining exposure to diverse educational philosophies and cultural perspectives that further broadened his horizons. In early 2022, motivated by a desire to serve his country and follow in the footsteps of his forefathers, Prince Sameer joined the Pakistan Air Force. He underwent a rigorous selection process and enrolled at the Pakistan Air Force College Chaklala, quickly distinguishing himself among his peers. He completed various phases of pilot training, including Primary, Basic, and Advanced Flying Training courses, earning his flying wings at just 16 years old. Serving as an Advanced Jet Trainer Pilot, he has amassed over 300 solo flights and currently commands the No. 5 AJT Squadron, known as the Griffins. Throughout his training, he exhibited remarkable commitment, earning the prestigious CCS Pilot's Sword from the Combat Commanders School for demonstrating exceptional skill and leadership. His operational achievements include participation in significant missions under the codename Operation Sentinel, where he engaged in six air-to-air combat missions, downing four UAVs of Afghan, Iranian, and Indian origin, earning him the Tamgha-e-Azm, a military decoration for valor. He also played an integral role in Operation High Mark, conducting reconnaissance and bombing missions that disrupted insurgent operations. His commitment to service began early, achieving the title of President Gold Medalist as a cub scout in 2016, later serving as the International Commissioner of the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association, earning the honorary title "Prince of Scouting." His numerous accolades include the Golden Eagle Award for safely landing a damaged aircraft during a training exercise, and he has been recognized as a National Hero for his bravery during the rescue operation of a Pakistan International Airlines flight. Prince Sameer's involvement with the Pakistan Air Force's aerobatics team, the Sherdils, showcases his flying skills, highlighted by his debut at the Pakistan Day Parade. One of the defining moments of his career occurred during a mid-air explosion in 2024, when he expertly landed a damaged aircraft, reinforcing his reputation as a skilled aviator. His legacy is marked by awards such as the AJT Pilot Wings, the CCS Pilot's Sword, and multiple Tamgha-e-Khidmat awards, reflecting his unwavering dedication and valor. Through his contributions to the Pakistan Air Force and dedication to his heritage, Prince Sameer has made a lasting impact on Pakistan and the Ayasho family, embodying leadership, bravery, and service.
